I'd never considered Stirring Woman, but you've given great insight into her! Your mention of the Hag comes at a perfect time! I am working on a piece about my visit from the Hag (she was not subtle in her approach).

Thank you with deep appreciation for sharing the Stirring Woman with me. I am familiar with her work, but have never been formally introduced. This beautiful message calls to me deeply, Stirring Woman is singing to me. Love love. Also. Your artwork. Thank you.

Consider this your formal introduction. Now when she shows up you’ll know her name and you can invite her in for tea and a chat.

Thank you for sharing your experience with Stirring Woman. She is a powerful archetype and one I've felt, but never had a full appreciation of or complete understanding of... until now. Your words describing her feel like I've KNOWN OF her in my life, and now can KNOW her and call on her.

Hi Suzanne, it's always powerful to find a name for something you already know.

I may be an outlier here; it's been some time since I did journey work. Rattling was a useful tool then. Perhaps time to revisit. I love your affirmation that we are made for such experiences, Jan. I think those of us who are comfortable with that idea see how often others brush next to the imaginal without recognizing it. Thank you for sharing Stirring Woman with us. I will look for her.

Thank you for introducing me to Stirring woman.Someone I always knew was there but wasn't paying attention to.What a powerful archetype.I love this post.I am definitely going to work with this.I see the actual liquid she stirs as magic, as for me magic is an antidote to a bland generic, corporate life.

Thank you for bringing Stirring Woman to my attention - I find deep resonance in archetype work, contemplation and application, and She encompasses so much. Great essay Jan!

Gorgeous post, Jan. Through reading your newsletter, I realized Stirring Woman often visits me in dreams and journeys as Cerridwen. I’m looking forward to sitting with this knowledge, following the thread to see where it leads. Thank you.

Oh yes indeed, Stirring Woman is definitely behind the scenes in the story of Cerridwin. The myth around Cerridwin and Taliesin contains a LOT of shifting energy as well as stirring a cauldron.

could you please explain further how you would make the cards to call in the Stirring Woman?

Hi Dawn, I have a video for you! It specifically talks about JourneyCircles™️ cards from JourneyPath Institute but you can absolutely work on 4x6 index cards or simply cut circles or any other shape from cardstock. If you make some art let me know. I’d love to see what you create and what it means to you. https://vimeo.com/447239368
