I have just given up my home at 82 years old and moved into a Senior Residence. The transition is accepted but challenging. Thank you for this message.
Hi Sheila, how hard to have to leave a long time home. Acceptance of what is less than desired is a courageous work which it seems you are tackling and winning. That’s a powerful and positive attitude. I wish you speed and comfort settling into your new residence. May it become “home” more than you thought it would be.
Once again, I want to tell you how much I enjoyed your essay. I am well into the stage of being a crone and, despite some serious problems, I am enjoying exploring the lovely benefits of my crone time. Thank you for you excellent writing.
Thanks once again for your valuable insights. I am always inspired by your writings. I appreciate the reminders to embrace this crone stage and to open to transformation. I am definitely focusing more on the unseen and rejoicing for what has been and for what will be.
Thank you, Marta. It’s so good to hear that you find value in my writing . Having been a visual artist for most of my life expanding into writing has been a bit scary.
This turning of the great Wheel brings so much and takes so much. My mother transitioned over just a few weeks ago. I feel loss and sadness but like the seasons I know that change is inevitable. She is where she needs to be in her next phase of this journey. As I grow older I feel that instead of becoming stagnant I have more to offer now in the way of knowing than I ever had before. As a Master Naturalist I’m attuned to these seasonal changes but as a Crone it brings me more in balance with the Mother Earth when I embrace these changes that the turning of the Wheel brings. Life and death and life again. 🩵
Hi Rebecca, so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. I’m glad you sense she is where she needs to be for her continued journey. Losing your mother is difficult for everyone but I have noticed that when a woman loses her mother she is radically changed and often propelled into the Crone energy even if she is still quite young. Somehow that experience seems to ignite a deep kind of knowing around life and death, something Mother Nature is always teaching us about.
Loved this, thanks. I am just at that age and am blessed to have the time and freedom to transform.
Freedom to Transform, sounds like the beginning of a great adventure. Who will you become I wonder?
Beautifully written!
Thank you Kathy. 🙂
