Love this piece..I too am immersed in nature almost daily as a gardener and herbalist, thank goodness. It's what keeps me grounded and at peace in this crazy world. My husband and I bought a property with a bit of land and turned it into a wild 85% native garden. I learned all about native plants and trees and am consistently amazed at how many wild creatures live in our garden...both above and below the surface. Last summer I observed the three life cycles of ladybugs on a California Brittlebush native one afternoon and just couldn't walk away, I literally sat for most of the day just watching. The act of observing the natural world and immersing yourself in its beauty is an incredible life-transforming experience. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

Such a wonderful piece and I loved your video! You may recall that I was one of your students taking your online Nature Journaling classes. Being a Master Naturalist and artist it seemed a nice fit for me and it was! It opened a whole world and a much greater understanding of the natural world! Since then I have gone on to being a Nature Journaling instructor and have incorporated much of what you speak of in your video into my teaching. We are indeed part of that magnificent Circle!

I find so much value in apps like iNaturalist and Merlin, which are helping me learn to identify my local flora & fauna. (One big lesson I've learned this year is that the weeds in my lawn have great biodiversity! lolsob) (Don't worry, we're steadily replacing lawn with native plants.)

Lovely, piece. And, thanks for the glimpse in your journal. I saw some swallows on a short hike yesterday. Now, I want to try drawing them :)
