Great article, especially weaving in the archetypal foundations. Thanks for sharing it! I love the Tarot and the learnings contained within. I trained with the voyager deck (James Wanless), and have now moved to the Witches Wisdom Deck by Phyllis Currott.
Do you have a daily practice? For example a daily card pull in the morning? Would love to learn about any personal rituals you do that are just for you. Thanks 👍
I always approach the Tarot with great reverence and respect. I don’t pull a daily card and only go to the Tarot when I have an actual question. Probably the most important part of my practice is the space in which I do my readings. I have a special table and corner of a room dedicated to Tarot reading. I use a Tarot cloth and various ritual objects like crystals, statues, candles, vessels etc. I always smudge, and open the session with a sound vibration bells, singing bowl or rattle. I never leave the cards out on the table after the reading and I store my deck in a pout with selenite. This is just my personal preference, there are so many ways to be in relationship with the cards.
I stay with questions that are designed to give me the most knowledge and wisdom for me. So things like “What do I need to know to best navigate this situation” “How can I best support myself (or someone else) in this situation” “What is most important to focus on” “How can I be most effective” “what is my deepest need”. I find the cards dislike superficial and nosey questions that involve knowing others peoples business or mind/feelings and they will give purposefully obtuse or mocking answers, so I keep the focus on me and what I need to know or do myself. Hope that helps.
Oh I hadn’t heard of Tarosophy before! But I’ll be excited to learn more about this thanks to the books you recommended.
I had Substack read your post aloof on my drive home and it was a very informative way to pass the time while stuck in Rush Hour! Thanks! 🧡

Both great decks!

Thanks for the insight.
