As the mystery of the divine birth draws near, we become aware of the shining ones surrounding us on the other side of the veil.
Angels are certainly mysterious beings. Apparently, they are terrifying to behold since the first thing they say to anyone who encounters them is, “Be not afraid.”
I tend to want to take them at their word and, rather than fear them, focus on their mission as guardians, messengers, and protectors on the side of good.
When the divine is born within us, and we choose to let that infuse our lives, I suspect the angels rejoice. The indwelling of divinity in our hearts is something special and mystical; after all, it is said that “fools go where angels fear to tread.” Perhaps we are fools to believe that divinity can perch like a dove within our flawed human heart. Yet, it is our great hope.
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.”
Merry Christmas.

One Christmas I had an amazing angel experience. I prayed for an angel’s help. Music was playing on the radio and was angelic-like. It sounded like an angel singing. I was mesmerized by the song. After it finished, I looked up to see an angel ornament I had decorated my chandelier with looking at me- i knew at that moment it was her who had sung to me 🎶 🩵
Here’s the song if you’re interested :
